Being humans it’s our duty to keep our rivers clean and pollution free.  The Hudson river also contains pollutants and the main cause of it is industrial waste discharges and sewage treatment plants. The worst polluter of the Hudson river was general electric between 1947 and 1977. This is due to dumping tons of polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs) into the Hudson River. Since the Clean Water Act(1972) was implemented the water quality improved a lot. From 2020 quantity of pollutants in fish and crabs was noticed to be decreased.

The aquatic life on the Hudson river map is very eminent. Zooplankton is very abundant in both fresh and saltwater regions of the river serving food to larval and juvenile fish. There are animal species chironomid flies, oligochaete worms, and amphipods. The Hudson river has 220 species of fish, bass, catfish, striped bass, and yellow perch. Doing fishing is well-liked by residents over there but due to water pollution, it’s not allowed to eat fish caught in the river.

This is something interesting about the Hudson river. The location emergency landing of the commercial airplane by the pilots Chesley Sullenberger and Jeffrey Skiles. They ditched an Airbus A320 on the river and saved the life of 155 passengers and of staff.
