In this article, we will talk about the Missouri River Map. The Missouri River is the longest river in the United States. It forms in the Rocky Mountains area at a height of about 4000 feet above sea level by the confluence of the Jefferson, Madison, and Galatians rivers. It has a total length of 2350 miles. It was found that some of the major tribes along the Missouri River included the Otoe, Missouria, Omaha, Ponca, Brulé, Lakota, Arikara, Hidatsa, Mandan, Assiniboine, Gross Ventures, and Blackfeet. The ecosystem of the Missouri river includes 301 species of birds, 156 fish, 60 mammals, and 52  reptiles and amphibians. Missouri has been a major lead-producing region which is why the Missouri watershed region is facing lead contamination. And it’s not good for its inhabitants, wildlife, and other life forms. One of the fish, (pallid sturgeon) once thrived in the river which is endangered presently. Under the Endangered Species Act, there is some work going on to recover their population.
